Responsible home ownership includes Islamic loans free from Riba

islam-8 For many practicing Muslims who rely on Islamic loans free from Riba to maintain their spiritual values, keeping a regular home maintenance schedule is an important part of responsible home ownership.

With spring just around the corner, February is a good month to get some maintenance work done around your home. Here are a few suggestions.

  • Change your furnace filter. These filters trap dust and dirt that circulate through the air before they can enter your HVAC system, preventing possible damage to the fan or heating coil from airborne particles. Replacing quality filters every one to two months can also help improve the air quality in your home.
  • Think Green. Replace incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs. Energy Star certified lightbulbs throughout your home will help to conserve energy and save on utility bills.
  • Try a do-it-yourself wood stain restoration on your kitchen cabinets. Lightly sand cabinets after cleaning with a mixture of TSP and water and apply a polyurethane varnish-stain to spruce up the wood tone. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try a coat of paint to give the cabinets and your kitchen an entirely new look.

Obtaining proper Islamic mortgages will start you off on the right financial footing and regular home maintenance will protect the investment you’ve made.
