Islamic mortgages and some inexpensive home improvements

islam-11 It’s important to take a realistic look at just how far your financing can take you when you are considering applying for Islamic mortgages to purchase a home. That includes being able to afford the monthly payments required to maintain a family home so you don’t overextend your budget. Not every homeowner can afford to do major home additions and alterations, but making smaller, affordable changes here and there can greatly improve your living space without reaching too far beyond your financial comfort zone. Here’s a few ideas:

  • Laminate flooring is a relatively inexpensive DIY project that can improve the look of any room in your home. Consider re-tiling your kitchen or bathroom floor in ceramic tile for a fresh, scratch-resistant look that will spruce up these high traffic areas.
  • Rather than completely replacing older cabinets in kitchens and bathrooms, refacing only the doors while leaving the cabinets intact is a much simpler solution to getting the “look” of new cabinets without the added expense.
  • Don’t underestimate the boost that freshly painted walls and ceilings can give to almost any room in your house. You can often pick up a gallon of paint together with the brushes and primer you’ll need on sale at your local hardware store.

Obtaining the right Islamic finance free from Riba is a smart investment and so is making useful and inexpensive improvements to your home.
