Here’s how to avoid riba and these house hunting mistakes

As a Muslim, it’s important to avoid riba by buying proper Islamic finance, but there’s a lot more to getting the keys to your dream home than just the financing. Obviously, you need to make the right choice and the first critical move is house hunting. Like every other step on the road to home ownership, there are mistakes that can set your plans back if you don’t understand how to avoid them. Make sure you steer clear of these when you’re looking at different properties:

  • Don’t take separate cars to the home you’re interested in. It’s often the case your real estate agent will phone to tell you about a home that’s just house huntingcome on the market and they’ll want to meet you there. It’s always best if you get the agent to pick you up so you don’t get lost or separated. Going in one vehicle means you can discuss the place after you’ve seen it as well.
  • Open all the doors. Looking through a house thoroughly means seeing it all. It’s good if you don’t leave any stone unturned and look in every room, especially the ones behind the closed doors.

When you purchase Islamic mortgages, you’ve taken steps to look after you beliefs. Showing the same due diligence when house hunting means having a good plan.
