Watch out for riba and damaged electrical cords

Damaged electrical cords can be a real safety hazard in the home. After you’ve gone through the process to get Islamic loans, it stands to reason you’ll want to be sure your family is safe from all sorts of hazards, not just riba. Here’s a few things to keep in mind so you can be sure the cords you’re using are safe.

First off, they need to bear the mark of a recognized certification agency. There’s a list of these agencies readily available on the Internet for both the United States and Canada. It’s a good idea to stay away from any of the bargain basement cords that don’t have this extra safety feature. Check the cords you do have on a regular basis even when they have the proper ratings. Worn insulation and exposed plug parts are sure signs you need to look for home ownershipreplacements.

You wouldn’t think of using Islamic mortgages for anything other than their intended purpose and the same goes for extension cords. There are different types suited for indoor and outdoor use and you should never switch one for the other. Finally, remember extension cords are for temporary use only. They are not a way to get around installing proper outlets.
